Murder on Maryland's Eastern Shore

Joeseph E. MooreJoseph E. Moore was born in Berlin, Maryland, on November 23, 1942.  He attended school in Worcester County and graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in June of 1960.  He attended Wesley College in Dover, Delaware receiving his Associate of Arts Degree in 1962.  Thereafter, he graduated from University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1965.  Mr. Moore attended University of Maryland School of Law where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Degree in 1968. 

He became associated with the law firm of Marcus J. Williams in 1969 and became a partner in the law firm of Williams, Hammond & Moore two years thereafter.

Mr. Moore is presently a partner in the law firm of Williams, Moore, Shockley & Harrison, LLP which has offices located in Ocean City and Ocean Pines, Maryland.  Mr. Moore previously served as States Attorney for Worcester County; Attorney for the Worcester County Board of Zoning Appeals; Attorney for the Town of Berlin, Maryland; and presently represents Ocean Pines Association.  Mr. Moore is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association where he previously served on the Association’s Board of Governors. 

Mr. Moore is a member of the Board of Directors of Calvin B. Taylor Banking Company and formerly of Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.  He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the Worcester Preparatory School.  He serves on the Board of Directors of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation in Dover, Delaware; is a former Director of the NABB Research Center for Delmarva Culture and History at Salisbury University; and is a member of the Board of Directors of Ocean City Life Saving Museum

In 2003, Mr. Moore was selected as a fellow of The American College of Trial Lawyers which is one of the premiere legal organizations in the United States with not more than 1% of the attorneys in any state being eligible for membership. 

He is married to Susan Connelly Moore and they have two grown daughters, Melissa Reid and Jennifer Moore.  They have two grandchildren, Patrick and Sarah Reid.
